Drenched

Saturday was quite a day here ...The weather system passed to the East ,
but the high waves continued all day . The vantage point i had planned to go to
was closed the trail was considered too dangerous . I drove to another location
and was rewarded with some fantastic photos of waves pummeling the rocks and
reefs .

It was very good to be prepared . I had bought a " raincoat " for the
Camera , and I had a jacket and rain pants for myself . I also carried two
extra towels under my jacket .

When the waves hit the land they throw up amazing amounts of spray . Wet
spray . the best way to keep dry is to shoot at an angle to the Coast line ,
instead of trying to get the waves Head on. But no matter what you will get
wet and the Camera Lens will get wet . That is the purpose of the towels .

It was cold , but how many times in your life will you get to really see
something like this ! Dozens of people were finding the same area I had located
, all dashing out trying to take a photo , then retreating to their cars . I
was able to share my towels with several people .

For the most part I can say this day I was really living " Drenched ". I
stayed there for a couple of hours , till memory and battery were wearing out .
I could easily taste the salt water on my lips .

On this day all my senses were fully engaged ...what a wonderful Memory
!!
